In the world of football, few players have achieved as much success and fame as Enrico "Enrique" Sampaio. As one of Brazil's greatest strikers, Enrique is widely regarded as one of the most talented forwards in the history of the sport.

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1958, Enrique made his professional debut with Santos FC during the 1977 season. He quickly became a key player for the team, scoring over 200 goals in his career, making him one of the most prolific goal-scorers in football history.

During his time at Santos, Enrique won three league titles, two Copa Libertadores championships, and one Intercontinental Cup. He also helped Santos win their first South American Club Championship in 1986.

However, it was at Flamengo that Enrique truly established himself as one of the best strikers in the world. After leaving Santos, he joined Flamengo in 1987 and immediately proved to be a force to be reckoned with. In just his second season with the club, Enrique scored 44 goals in all competitions, setting a new record for the most goals in a single season in Brazilian football history.

Over the next several years, Enrique continued to dominate the league, scoring over 50 goals in each of the next four seasons. He also won the FIFA World Club Championship with Flamengo in 1990, helping them defeat Liverpool FC in the final.

Despite retiring from professional football in 1991, Enrique's legacy lives on. He has been inducted into the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Hall of Fame, and his name remains synonymous with Flamengo and Brazilian football. His contributions to the sport will continue to inspire future generations of players for many years to come.
