Paulo Dybala, the Argentine forward who joined Juventus from Palermo in January, has been out with a knee injury since August.
The injury came after he played through it during the club's Serie A opener against Bologna last month. The 22-year-old was forced off early in the game and underwent surgery shortly afterwards.
Dybala is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the club's training ground in Turin, but his return date remains uncertain. He will not be available for Juventus' next match, which is against Sassuolo on Sunday.
However, Dybala's absence has not gone unnoticed by Juventus fans and players alike. Manager Massimiliano Allegri said that Dybala would not be fit to play until the end of the season.
"We need him to help us win games," Allegri told reporters ahead of the match against Sassuolo. "He is a player who can make the difference."
Despite being sidelined, Dybala remains determined to get back into the team as soon as possible. He recently posted a message on Instagram thanking his fans for their support and saying that he is working hard to get back on the pitch.
It is hoped that Dybala will be ready for the final few weeks of the season, giving Juventus a boost going into the Europa League semi-finals and the Serie A title race.
However, until then, Juventus will have to rely on other forwards such as Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata to fill the gap left by Dybala's absence.
